Dark World Plot || Summary

This is a quick and general summary of the Dark World Plot-- More specifically the part of the plot that involved characters going through the cursed floors (the post can be found here). This summary is here in case of threads still in the process of being completed and for characters who couldn't tag a lot or at all in the log, so as to assume and/or handwave what happened to them. Also most importantly this is the dark world's official theme. And everyone should know it.

As said in the log's intro characters got dragged into the Dark World in one of four manner-- Which one was preferred was up to mun's preferences.

• The Dark Forest (Floor 06)
This floor was cast into permanent twilight, the trees had faces distorted in pain; the very air characters breathed in felt like poison. That was basically a traditional dark world: congratulation you just walked into Mordor. The monsters were much more powerful than usual and the animals had taken on a demonic appearance. There was a dark fog and it looked as though there were a Triforce within the sun itself.

Characters walking through this floor may have had to fight a bunch of monsters and ended up in one of the three dungeons, magically. Some of them could hear and speak with Richtofen's voice too. Basically, Richtofen proved to be a gigantic douche not to be trusted with god-like powers as in the end, he did everything for the evulz. That's Richtofen for you.

In all three of the following dungeons, the idea was the same: go through a series of trial, fight boss battle get pendant!

• The Water Temple (Floors 07, 62 and 79)
The idea was that to obtain the Pendant of Wisdom, the characters had to empty the pool from normal water in order to fill it with green water from the dark world. They were able to empty the pool fairly quickly using switches in the room. Once the pool emptied, this opened two corridors, one leading to the Flooded Floor and one leading to the Ocean Floor. In these floors after solving series of puzzles, it half-filled the pool with green water. The puzzles involved lots of swimming, breathing underwater and lots of brain usage.

Back on the swimming pool floor, two new corridors were opened, taking them to different areas of the ocean and submerged floors. However this time were somewhat more tricky because they also had to turn on and off switches from the two previous corridors. People on the ocean floor also had to fight a mini boss similar to an octopus from a boat.

These annoying puzzles solved, the pool was filled with green water. That's when Richtofen decided to be a douche and summon the Boss Battle: Morph-Ame.

The Boss Battle started up as slow, with only one tentacle bothering the poor adventurers from the swimming pool. Once Hidetoshi found the Hookshot and managed to have the nucleus of the monster killed, seventeen of these tentacles popped out from the water to attack. Once all 17 nucleus killed, the boss died.

As a result of the monster's death, the swimming pool froze and the characters were able to obtain the Pendant of Wisdom. A glowing Triforce appeared on the ground, and characters could chose to step forward and reach Richtofen's laboratory, or remain behind.

• The Death Mountain (Floors 65 and 68)
This one was the "easy dungeon". Very few puzzles. Basically the characters had to reach the top of the mountain. There were two path, one involving ab apparent a tunnel going into the mountain (actually a portal connecting to the volcano floor). A lot of strong monsters, like the Darknuts and the Uruk-Hai, were fought.

-- Volcano Floor
It's a Volcano, that's extremely hot and normal characters couldn't survive for much more than a couple minutes unless they found the Used Goron Tunics, used spells or rushed through the floor. There was a bit of a puzzle here, in that characters couldn't use flying power and yet rivers of lava cut off their path. They had to pick up Big Pots around and throw them into the lava. These big pots were filled with water, hence upon falling onto the lava they created platforms for the characters to pass on. Upon getting out, they reached the mountaintop.

-- Mountain Path
It was the longer way to reach the mountaintop, but the less risky one all things considering. The wind got worse and there were a lot of rock slide, but at least the characters didn't risk falling into lava. Lots of monsters here too. When they reached the top of the mountain they could see the Power Pendant: that's when Richtofen decided to troll them and summon a dragon to attack them.

Soul Dragon: Almargorok

The original dragon was taken off rather quickly thanks to all the attacks and Lancer's suicidal attack. However following this, Ganondorf personally intervened, cutting off Richtofen's powers in the area, reviving the dead dragon and creating two shadows of it, making it a total of three dragons: a skeletal dragon, an ice dragon, a fire dragon.

This was by far the deadliest boss battle in the entire plot with at least two characters dying. The skeletal dragon was invulnerable and became vulnerable only when the two shadow dragons were killed. Once the dragons dead, the sky cleared up and characters could get the Pendant of Power. A glowing Triforce appeared on the ground, and characters could chose to step forward and reach Richtofen's laboratory, or remain behind.

• The Palace of Darkness (Floors 08 and 73)
Lots of mazes here, that was pretty much the core of this dungeon. There were three paths, all of them were exceedingly long corridors. Throughout those corridors they found monsters, but nothing impossible to beat. Following each of these corridors they reached the maze floor and had to go through it.

Then characters returned to the castle. They were in a room with a door locked by a great stone with musical indication on it. And, well. The fact was, each path got a musical instrument assigned to it. The Soul's Harp, the Ocarina of Soul and the Soul Waker. All of these are in one of the chest at the beginning. So if the characters didn't open the chest and went right in one of the three doors, at this point they had to go back all the way to the entrance to get the instrument.

Dark Self
Following all the mazes, each character had to battle their dark self like in this video. Nothing special here, just the battle. Defeating the dark self led to the true boss battle.

Soul Beast: Seele Molgera

This is generally seen as one of the great favorite boss battle in Zelda (and the music kicks ass). This boss went very similar to as seen in the video, save for it was bigger and had more big sand worms accompanying it. Oh and lots of deadly quicksands.

Once Molgera defeated, characters could get the Pendant of Courage. A glowing Triforce appeared on the ground, and characters could chose to step forward and reach Richtofen's laboratory, or remain behind.

• Richtofen's Floor (Floor 70)
All characters who reached this floor got to keep permanently a copy of the pendant they found in their dungeon, as a souvenir. Richtofen's floor was structured like a Zombies map. The exploration thread took the form of a game of Zombies, in which the goal was to find a way to turn up the lights and expose Richtofen while avoiding all of the monsters he's controlling. Indeed, thanks to the secret technique of the dark world, Richtofen was absolutely invincible unless exposed to light.

Here is a basic summary written by Naya of this floor. And of course it ends with a boss battle.

Usurper Administrator: Richtofen
Mostly Richtofen sending monsters and running away throughout the dark world. But he also attacked by himself so he got bonus point for actually dying with honor. He shot dark energy and changed the floors the battle happened on: see Zant in twilight Princess.

Following this the pendants activated a final Triforce symbol on the ground: characters could chose to go forward or wait behind.

• Illusionary Room (Floor 12)
That's where the core of Dark World (Repliku) remained. Loyal to its name, that room's main theme was illusion and many monsters were to be fought. Here the theme was not zombie but more close to darkness, in the KH Series sense of the word.

Curse's Vessel: Repliku
Who knows how this battle went? Repliku most likely didn't fight most everyone-- Rather sent them to Ganondorf unless he really had a reason to fight them. Speak about a reliable servant. He kept most characters busy with monsters and ended up fighting only a handful, if at all.

• Ganon's Tower (Floor 75)
The Tower was not a cursed floor, and hence was the simplest floor of them all-- All battles were optional and the hardest part was to reach the roof of the tower. There could be found Ganondorf and Zelda, albeit Zelda was kind of prisoner of a Crystal. Ganondorf then gave the heroes a The Reason You Suck speech doubled with explaining how he manipulated all the hero's movement up till then, going to the point of affirming his own death was programmed to happen, hence if they could him that was only because he wished it.

He was full of himself, basically.

Great King of Evil: Ganondorf
Nothing much to say here, magic and sword battle. Ganondorf died after a battle at the hands of the heroes. Following this Zelda was freed from the crystal and the dark world faded away, freeing those who had stayed behind after the previous dungeons.

Characters obtained a heart container.

And that's about it! The log is still being back-dated, but if you have any question or need clarification, send questions my way!
